SMART Software Now Available With BrighLinks

Grant's Perspective on ... the SMART software now available with Epson BrightLink interactive projectors.

Here is some news many clients will find exciting.

But first, go back a few steps...

Years ago Epson came out with a line of projectors called Brightlink.  They are bright!  They are widescreen!  They are interactive!

Whether used in education or assisting to increase productivity in business, this ultimate solution has been very VERY popular.  Thinking more about this I realized I have never heard a negative remark about these state-of-the art workhorse interactive projectors.  We have these units installed in schools everywhere, training rooms, emergency operations, offices, corporate boardrooms.... such a variety of ways these are utilized!

No wonder Epson is the #1 selling projector brand worldwide and the Brighlink line is the #1 line of interactive projectors worldwide.

Now the news:

Just recently SMART announced their agreement with Epson to license SMART Notebook software for use with Epson BrightLink interactive projectors.

Major advantage for all who just love their Epson Brightlink!

This means that teachers who have developed curriculum content with the SMART Notebook software can use the Epson BrightLink projectors instead of the SMART electronic whiteboards.

And, no waiting.  This has already started as of a few days ago on October 1st

Chief To Introduce Interactive Monitor Kit

Grant's Perspective on ... Chief introducing an interactive monitor kit very soon.

We attended the 2012 Chief road-show in Winnipeg yesterday. Chief has expanded their line of AV mounts recently to include interactive kits. Back in September I commented on the projector mount that included an interactive module that would turn any regular projector into an interactive projector.

Below is a close up photo of the interactive module on the projector mount.

This same technology will soon be available as a part of a a display monitor mount kit! You will now be able to turn any commercial monitor (that you can touch the display surface without marking it) into an interactive monitor.

Allison (our friendly, helpful Chief representative) did not have a sample of the yet to be released display mount but she did have an illustration that we can share with you. The module is similar to the projection mount module but it looks to be much smaller. See illustration below. The monitor is mounted to the bracket and the "interactive accessory" (left side of the photo below) is in place just above the monitor glass. The monitor and bracket are then mounted on a wall or stand and it is ready to go!

I remember an Inland AV salesperson commenting when the BrightLink Solo first came out saying "I wonder when we will have an interactive kit for monitors?" He can wonder no more because it will be released in the next month!

IU-01 Interactive Demo At InfoComm

Grant's Perspective on ... IU-01 demonstration at InfoComm.

Epson had a demonstration of the IU-01 at InfoComm. This makes any existing projector interactive. The picture below shows the Epson representative with the infra-red pen doing an elementary school exercise. She gave a short demonstration to show the audience how intuitive and user-friendly the IR pen is and then let her audience try it.

The IU-01 is the same system that is the interactive heart of the BrightLink. It is not for sale at this time so we will stay tuned for a release announcement

BTW - The BrightLink has been getting a warm reception be it at InfoComm or the demonstrations that have been happening at Inland AV locations.
